Windows 7 Ultimate and GP 10.0

I am installing GP 10 on a machine with Windows 7 Ultimate. When I log on to the machine as Administrator I am able to log on to GP. When I log on with the user's network profile to the machine and try to run GP Utilities with 'sa' I am unable to.

The message is 'your attempt to log on to the server failed because an unknown error occurred when

the userid and password were being verified'.

I need some help!

Could you please try to "right click" on the GP Utilities and "Run as administrator".

    Your feedback is highly appreciated.

Try giving this user full control of the GP program folder.

The error message is taking longer to come up, but same results...

Log in as the non-Adminstrator and go to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 and look for a file called ODBCAD32.exe. Run that program add create a new DSN. When you log into GP use this new DSN. If you do not have security rights to do this then you have a problem with security and ODBC on this computer.Make sure you choose SQL server authentication.

It worked! thank you very much! I have 4 more machines to install and was getting worried. Can you say what could have caused this??

Obviously then, it is a security issue. When  you checked on the DSN's were they user DSNs or system DSNs? It is best to use system DSN's so therefore anyone using the computer can log in because they are all sharing the same DSN.
