Fast login/logout - Ax client on computer used by many users

Hello,

I am facing a scenario where 5 or 6 users share 2 computers interchangeably so the requirement is to access the Ax client by logging in, doing a piece of work and then logging out, so that another user can log into Ax to do what they need to. This is at multiple sites and each user may have different permissions (eg one is for a site manager with more permissions than an associate).

The current Ax Logon process with AD authentication, running on Citrix or even VPN takes too long and I need to figure out what the alternatives are. Ideally what I need is behaviour that is similar to POS login which is significantly faster.

Can anyone with a similar experience advise how you dealt with it or alternative approach that was used?

What about simply starting AX client with "Run as a different user"?
