I encountered problem when posting WIP entries to GL.

I cannot post the WIP entries to GL with the below error. I have then go to set up the Profit Center code in Dimension however it won't allow me to update. How can I update this in the WIP entries then post to GL ?

Rlau,

The WIP you are posting is from Jobs and WIP includes Items, Resources and G/L Accounts. With that said, the WIP GL Accounts you are posting to require the Dimension Code PROFIT to be populated. I would look at the following areas to see which of the setups needs the value:

1. Job Card/Posting Fast Tab/Job Posting Group look at the WIP GL Accounts and open them. See if any GL Account has the Dimension PROFIT set for Code Mandatory.

My gut tell me one of the WIP GL Accounts has this as Code Mandatory and you can go to the Job Card/Related/Job Dimensions and set the Job to a PROFIT Dimensions.

2. Planning Lines - Look at the Items and Resources as they too might have this Dimension and normally they are setup on each Item and Dimension. Not sure how you PROFIT Dimension relates but check.

Thanks for your reply.

I think the problem is I have missed to input the Profit Center in Dimensions when I set up the job.

So now my questions are:

1) how can I input the Profit Center in Dimension while I have already run the Calculate WIP? Because the system won't allow me to add the Profit Center in Dimension as refer to the error in screen capture attached.

2) another question is for the WIP entries already created after Calculate WIP, can I amend these entries to input back the Profit Center ?

Rlau,

The best way to resolve this, without starting over, is to connect with your Partner to write an one-time fix to update the missing Entries and also update the Job so this does not happen moving forward.
