thanks Shafeeque for your information.
in the return policy function, it can move the returned item to specified lication and set it as blocking.
I will verify if it could not send blocking inventory to channel side inventory.
Hi Alan,
Channel side inventory calculation doesn't send location level on-hand data to channel DB. Below is the snapshot of the 1130 product availability distribution schedule. I have been lately working on the inventory availability side for an ecommerce project. One option you have is to, extend the product availability calculation job and exclude the inventory in defect/return locations.
Note: The invent location column below shows warehouse.
thank you Algie. Sorry for late reply. I was thinking about your solution which looks very good.
Unfortunatory we have to use Channel-side inventory functionality. We're trying to customize POS code, checking the channel-side inverntory when adding a product to transaction.
yes. but unfortunatory we use Channel-side inventory functionality.
we're trying to customize POS code, didn't find the standard code about warehouse location yet.
The obvious no-code solution would be to create a dedicated warehouse for the damaged goods...
Answer in one word. No there is no option to restrict inventory lookup to restrict to one specific locations in a warehouse. However, this can be easily customized (in FnO) if you are using real time service for inventory lookup, by adding a flag at the location level to denote whether that specific location needs to be excluded for inventory lookup and adding the logic to exclude the locations from calculation.
Hi,
Basically if you have Warehouse management turned on the balance will show as available stock at the store .
The way you have to get around this is you have to "warehouse block status" the inventory that is in that location you don't want to show. This marks the stock on POS as "reserved" on the POS view so doesn't count against the available to sell total.
Example would be that say you have a store location for shop display- when you move the inventory to that location block it and then it shows reserved.
Same is the case for returns - you need a business process that notes - stock can be sold - or - stock is not being sold as damaged. Using the return locations setup doing that from the info code can auto set the block status on the line when it is returned.
Remember POS is effectively dumb - it won't block the sale if its a pay and take and it won't block it on a sales order - just will put it to back order. You will have to mind the status level and do stock adjustments as necessary. There is a batch process in warehousing that allows you to change the status automatically on locations.
Thanks for your response.
I meant one store's specific location's on-hand quantity.
In one store we need sales location, defect location, sample location. In backoffice we can see each location's on-hand quantity. But at POS's inventory lookup, we just see the total on-hand quantity of the three locations.
Is there a way, we only show sales location's on-hand quantity at POS inventory lookup page?
thanks
Alan
Hi,
You need to specify the fulfilment group on store setup tab, to filter out the warehouses for POS inventory.
Hi Alan,
did you verify MS docs?
