Import failed due to missing required components

Hi everyone,

regarding these posts: https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/t/199964 , https://community.dynamics.com/crm/f/117/p/201992/522589#522589 I'm facing the same issue. While exporting the solution from the sandbox, I've got a list of missing components including some entity relationships and some fields. However I understand why this issue comes up. Because some fields can't be found anywhere (actually I've not created any of them or am using them). Furthermore all the entity relationships and the other fields are included in the solution. I've also tried to remove and re-add them. But it didn't help. Of course the import failed because of that.

Can anybody help me fix this?

    HI

Can you see the exact field names or entities which are missing by looking at the error logs .

The you can try to re add those if they are missing in your solution .

Make sure your publishing all your components before exporting from Sandbox .

    Thanks!

Download the log file and check in excel which component get failed due to missing component required error.

Also try to re-add that entity in which missing component error coming.

Unfortunately I've tried all these. The thing is the missing components are included. Removing and Re-Adding didn't help...

Hi Dlo, What you can do is log a support case with Microsoft support, they will ask you to try importing again, and they will enable a server trace during the import, this will provide details information of which object is causing the errors so you can narrow down your dependency issue?

    Best Wishes, Raz

The only thing I did was customizing one standard form of an existing entity. So I created necessary fields:

    - Lookup field for Contact (Entity Relationship was automatically created, but while exporting was missing, that's the error I got)

    - The other fields get their data from the Contact entity via workflow

That's it. I could export the solution but the import failed.

Then I tried to fix it another way by rolling back some customization, i.e. I deleted those aforementioned fields and recreated them. But now exporting is impossible because I've got a query builder error saying that the specified field does not exist in Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

    Hi dlo,

What you can do (but that requires some low level xml editing), is to edit the solution xml files in the exported solution you made.

In order to find out what components are missing, you can run the import solution once again. During the import you will hit the errors. At the end of the failed import you have the option to save the error file.

You should save the error file, open Excel, drag the error file into excel and from there on you can see what went wrong.

I hope this points you in the right direction

    Hi Bas,

the missing components are two entity relationships. They are shown in the message. But actually they are included in my solution. I created the fields and they are automatically created by the system. The bigger problem is now that I can not export my solution due to the query builder error.

    Thx
