Where is the data stored that I use in guides?

Good morning,

do you guys have any information about where the data exactly got stored (eg. the uploaded CAD-data) when uploading them to guides?

And what is about the security of this storage? Which kind of concept is used to safe the data.

Looking forward to your information

All the media and data like Guides that you need often is stored in CDS.

To access it go to the power apps, in that, go to Guides app.

    Thanks Mahesh,

But it means there is room to grow. Which is good to know that knowledge even if its not currently ready. :)

Hi Ken - sorry for the late reply. What you say is possible, although we dont have any customer-facing tools at the moment to facilitate this.

    Mahesh,

Does this mean in theory, if a partner or client had Microsoft Guides but was outside of our organization, we could create a Guide in house (for example how to service Equipment XYZ) then package everything up from the CDS and provide them with it so they could use the Guide?

Hi Marius - all guides and associated usage data are stored in CDS. Guides, 3D files, media are represented as entities. You can view this by going to PowerApps and exploring the Guides app. See screenshot below. The security model aligns with D365 customer engagement, as we basically store everything in CDS.
