Hi

does anyone know the way how to assign organization to multiple users <-> security role sets ? E.g. I do have 50 users with security role A. Is there any way to assign them all to the same organization not clicking one-by-one ?

Any suggestion appreciated..

Witold

You can use data entity from data nanagenent import framework to cater this requirement.

    Hi Witold,

You can think about implementing automatic role assignment rules. Then on the rule you can define the organization assignment and have a query to determine which users should be assigned to the role via a rule. You can read my blog about this topic to get an idea how to use this: How to setup easy automatic role assignment - Dynamicspedia

    Hi Andre

Thank you for you answer - I've already tried mentioned functionality - but have 2 questions:

    1. When organization is assigned through 'Rules automatically assigning users to role' it is faded when I look at this assignment from user account view:

How can I (if technically possible) to change association to organization to this given user even more users/roles have been assigned to the organization by rules? Shall I manually exclude the user from this role - then ass it manually and assign to other organization ?

    2. Running function 'Run automatic role assignment' - do I run ALL rules created for other security roles or do I run ONLY rules created/attached to the security role I 'stay' on ?

    Appreciating your help

    Hi Witold,

    1. Is there any logic to determine if this user should have access to more organizations? You can setup multiple rules with different organization assignments. In case the user meets the query of multiple rules, it will have access to all the assigned organizations. So, probably, you can solve it with more rules.

If this is not possible in your scenario, you can indeed go for the manual role assignment and manage then the organizations.

    2. If you run the function from the form, it will only run it for the current selected security role. The standard batch job will execute it for all security roles. In case you want to trigger the automatic role assignment from the user, you can download the customization I shared on my blog.
