copying system date/time field to new date/time field with different behaviour type

Hello,

Original Issue: Email template sends appointment times with incorrect time attached.

To overcome this I've had to create a new date/time field with the behaviour type 'Time-Zone Independent' then copy the data from the old field to the new field.

I used a workflow to copy this data across from one field to the other but the data seems to do a time zone conversion when this happens.

Is there anyway of just copying the date/time data in the original field to the new field without any conversion?

In that case you have to store date time in a Text field with help of plug-in or workflow.
