I've mainly done POS 2009 installs, now i have an RMS 2.0 install and I need a scale. I'm running POS Ready 7 32 bit. In the past i've used the Avery/weightronix 6720 scale. I have, in house a 6708 version, and i can't get it to work. The customer will be getting a 6720 installed but i wanted to test it in house prior to deployment.
I installed the driver at http://www.brecknellscales.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=9&Itemid=36 and I can test the scale using the direct serial test, but running an OPOS checkhealthinteractive in the weighadmin program fails with a runtime error -5
Anyone know if the 6708 scale would ever possibly work, and/or if there are any issues i should know going in regarding the 6720 and 2.0 w/ POSReady7

It turns out there's a setting in the scale that needs to be changed for use with OPOS drivers, it needs to be changed from NCI mode to ECR Mode. It's not documented but that's what's necessary. Once I made that changed it worked just fine.
Have you tried using the RMS supplied opos drivers. Pick Berkel (another name for Avery), you have to supply the com port settings.
We normally use the metler toledo scales with RMS. But we use Avery with our other products.
I looked up the CCO driver from Brecknell. It is built against 1.13 CCO. This is too new to use with RMS. The new version is suppose to be backward compatible, but something in 1.12 broke this because it doesn't work.
So if you can find a copy of the driver with version 1.11 or before, this should work. Also just so you know RMS uses 1.6 (cant even download that anymore) but I always install 1.8 if I need to fix activex errors when POS starts.
