cost price and sales price are different in the projects tab of a general journal

Dear All:

I am having an error in the amounts of projects tab fields: cost price and sales price. These two are different I don´t know why. This happens everytime we have a transaction in a different currency from the entity´s currency and I change it to the new currency.

Example:

Entity´s currency: USD

Transaction currency: MXN

NOTE: These differences do not happen when I have a transaction in USD.

How Can I fix this issue?

Hi Maria,

Is the posting date of the journal voucher the same as the project date? If not, is there an exchange rate difference on both of the dates? What exact pricing setup do you have for calculating the sales price?

This is the configuration you ask. On the other hand ,yes the projects date and the expense journals have been done in different days so the exchange rates are different also.

Hi Maria,

When reviewing the question again, I think the cost price is converted from MXN to USD for the cost in accounting currency. Then this cost price in USD is converted to MXN as this is the sales currency. Due to rounding in between, small differences can occur.

Well, we are not using the sales module . Do you think it is needed to configure pricing setup for calculating the sales price in this case?
