If you change a Dimension and Reclassify an asset, should you then dispose of the old asset as it will still appear on reports and the FAR for stocktake?

Sorry - if You do reclassify - it is possible to move the value to new FA, not only change data on existing card.

In case You move all the value from one FA to another - You can dispose of the FA, if You don't want to see it in some reports, or are using the filter Disposed of = No, when running reports.
It is up to user to decide if he wants to Dispose of it or not - usually based on business logic - if the FA should still be in Your list or not.

If You change dimension or do a reclassify - you are doing changes on the same Fixed Asset card - so there is no old fixed asset.
Depends on the reports You are generating, and it could be that Fixed Asset is shown with old values, if the report shows information from Fixed Asset Ledger Entries - from before the changes, which has the old values attached.
