Current year exchange rate types for last year's figures in MR

Hi there,

I have a report that compares current period figures with last year's figures. The functional currency is EUR but the reporting currency is USD. The comparison is done in USD. MR is translating last year's figures at last year's exchange rate and this years at this years exchange rate. Is there a way of translating last year's figures at this year's exchange rate??

Thank you Ludwig as always very helpful, that's better I think than changing the exchange rate type to all accounts for just one report, thanks!

Hi Microsoft user,

Right.

The only option that I know would be adding a 'calculation column' that does this conversion for you.

This can be defined on a report by report basis but is at best a workaround.

Thanks Ludwig, that is a good idea but as you said we don't want all reports converted at the constant rate and changing the exchange rate type every time it's too time consuming. I would expect that you could define a fixed exchange rate in MR, out of AX but it seems that is not possible. Thanks again!

Hi Microsoft User,

Such Option is available in option for Main Accounts settings, Financial reporting> Currency Translation type.

There are options for Weighted Average, Average, Current & Transaction date.

MR will Fetch the exchange rate according to your setup here.

You want to eliminate the FX effect, right?

The only thing that we have available are the fields that we have available in the Chart of Account.

You could create a specific exchange rate type with a constant exchange rate.

If you link this exchange rate type to your main accounts, the management reporter should translate the data with this constant rate.

This should work ok but will influence all of your other reports as well. Best regards,
