Unable to amend Account or Contacts after UR 4 for CRM 2013 SP1 update applied

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

CRM experts,

I have limited experience with CRM 2013 and have recently been given a small estate to support.

We have just installed the Update Rollup 4 for CRM SP1 to our onpremise single server environment.

Since this update I have had a user log a ticket stating that she can no longer make changes to "Accounts" or "Contacts" within CRM. I have checked her account and can confirm that the fields are no longer clickable, I've tried multiple browsers.

We have created our users and assigned them to a tailored sales role.

Could this UR 4 caused this potential issue?

Appreciate any assistance

Mike.

On which entity can she no longer change the account or contact? Does she have "Edit", "Append" and "Append to" privileges for that entity?

After a little more investigation, it looks like when I'm in as an administrator the page layouts and permissions appear ok, when I log in as the affected user, the screen layout are different and the permissions to edit etc are incorrect.

Looks like the screenshot I attached did not attach.

Looking at the Security Role. the permissions are as follows for Account

Create,Read,Write,Append, Append To, Assign,Share are all set to Green circle(Org level)

Delete is half yellow circle (BU)

    Contact -

Read,Write,Append,Append To, Share set to full green circle

Create, Delete - set to half yellow circle.

thanks for the prompt replies, I have checked the role which she is a member off, I've pasted the result below.

Permissions, look OK to me from here.

    Could this be Java related?

Kindly check Security Roles assigned to users and be sure that Users have privilege to update Account and Contact.Issue may be occurs if Account and Contact belongs to different BU or Users have lesser level of required privilege.

    1. Check her security role.

    2. If need be elevate her rights to 'WRITE'
