Quality order is not validating with Update inventory status in ADW

Hi Team,

I am currently validating the quality order with the Update inventory status (Pass/Fail) functionality, but the system is throwing an error so how can i solve.

I suspect that the Full Blocking functionality may not be supported in Advanced Warehouse Management. (Place of Full blocking)Could any please advise on how we can manage scenarios where the entire incoming quality should be blocked and moved to the damage area if it fails?

Item number: ADWItem-009Physical on-hand Site=4,Warehouse=44,Location=GoodsIN,Inventory status=Available,Batch number=BH-2901-005 0 cannot be picked because only -3 is/are available from the inventory for item: ADWItem-009.

I believe that it is coming because item is blocked from blocking(Not sure)

My process is straightforward:

  • All incoming items(Batch/Non batch) undergo a quality check.
  • Passed items move to the next location.
  • Failed items move to the damage/quarantine area

I have attached the relevant setup screenshots for reference—I believe I might be missing something.

Looking forward to your guidance.

    Good day,

Could you maybe share a screenshot of the on-hand inventory for this with the dimensions that have been mentioned in the error/warning message?

    Best regards,

    Hi,

The Quality management for warehouse processes feature takes effect only if the item on the source document line uses warehouse management processes (WMS), and if the Enable quality order for warehouse processes option is set to Yes for the warehouse on the source document line.

Full blocking is not supported for value "Quality management for warehouse processes" in the Applicable warehouse type.

Value of "All" inactivates the new quality management feature which works with advance warehouse management.

    Hi,

Make sure you have done below 2 setups

1 - Make sure that the warehouse is set to use quality order for warehouse processes,

2 - Quality association is set with value "Quality management for warehouse processes" in the Applicable warehouse type field

    Item sampling as below

    Now the test

1 - I registered a quantity of 110 pcs. System generated 2 put away work as below

2 - System generated a quality item sampling work and a quality order. Complete the quality item sampling work.

3 - Fail the quality order

4 - Work generated to move the failed items to blocked location.

Similarly, you can do lot more different combinations in item sampling and achieve the same results.

    Hi,

Only change is you can set item sampling is 100%.

    Thanks for your creative response.

However, I would like to understand how the system handles the remaining quantity (excluding the sampled portion). If the sampling fails, the entire lot (full quantity) should be considered failed and moved to the restricted area. I believe I need to manually move the remaining quantity using a movement transaction—am I correct?

I attempted to configure the system to automatically create a movement using the "Movement by Template" option when validating the quality order, but I couldn’t achieve this setup.

I also explored using Detours, where I expected that when creating a manual movement, the system would provide a lookup showing the available quantity in the license plate. This would allow me to directly select the remaining quantities(License plate). However, I was unable to achieve this setup as well.

Could you suggest the best approach for moving the remaining quantities in this scenario? Additionally, what is the industry best practice (especially in large-scale operations) for handling such cases?
