MR 2012 will not download group of reports to Excel

When we try to generate a group of reports to excel MR fails.

Each of the reports appears to work by itself until you try to download to Excel - and then it also fails.

What we have found so far is that all the reports have the Include Formula clicked.

I know I posted last week that removing the option is a good work around, however, I am with client now that has several hundred reports, has to use excel to combine data from outside source and not having the formula for some of the reports is going to be a non-starter solution.

So my ask

Is anyone closer to knowing when this issue might be resolved?

    Good Afternoon,

What version of Management Reporter are you running? Help | About

Also, what error message do you receive, is anything written to the Event Viewer?

We are running - MR 2012 - Version 2.1.10001.112 - not sure how that translates to the CU values.

The error is a generic HTTP 404 message as far as the Network people have told me.

Anyone from Microsoft MR Team want to take a shot at a reply to this question.

Are you exporting formulas, if so, if you un-check export formulas does the issue still occur?

We know that if we remove the 'formula' button that they will work.  The question the client is still pounding me on is when will we be able to use the feature to export the report with Formula?

If the answer is never, then I would suggest we remove the button.

    Hi Bill,

I have some good news for you.  When you export MR to excel its takes all the rows in order to calculate the formula.  In the row format there is a option for print control where you can restrict by selecting X0 for Suppress row if all zeros.  This control is impacting your export to excel.  So once you remove this on your row your export will work just fine.  Please try and let me know.

    Hi Bill,

    Any update on this.

Babu, sorry for the lag in response.

This solution - well likely to work - is not a workable solution given the fact that the client has several 100 reports and therefore 1000's of lines that would have to be updated to solve as suggested.

So, seems we still need to figure out why when selecting the Formula button makes it fail.
