Reason Code Setup Security Access

We are trying to give one of our users access to the reason code setup in the inventory module.  I have found where it located and checked the box to add the task to the role she is assigned to, but she still does not have access.  She logged out and got back in again.  Are we missing something?  Is there another step?

Perfect!  Thanks!  We were looking under the Inventory, not company.

We tried checking and unchecking the box several times before I posted the question.

    Katrice -

The likely problem with finding Reason Codes is it is in the Series Company, and not Inventory.  You should also confirm the OPERATIONS MANAGER* role hasn't been modified and that it indeed does include the ADMIN_INV_001* task (see the images below).

I also mentioned unchecking security and rechecking it can be necessary, in isolated cases, so you may want to try this as well.  Finally, the POWERUSER role is a bit of a misnomer in GP, it really is not permission to do everything, it is more like the absence of security completely. There are certain explicit security situations that will thwart POWERUSER role members, but for the most part they can do anything in any module; this is not optimal.

Thanks!  Do you know where we can find "Reason Codes"?  We have looked through every list and don't see it.  We only see "Reason Codes Setup".  I assigned the OPERATIONS MANAGER* role to our test user and it did not have access to setup the reason codes.  So far only the POWERUSER role seems to have this ability.

The security task that contains the setup window for reason codes is the ADMIN_INV_001 task.  It is assigned by default to the OPERATIONS MANAGER* role. There are two different windows permissions that must be assigned in order for users to maintain these records. These are Reason Code Setup and Reason Codes. Make sure you have them both enabled, and make sure you have the task above assigned to a Role the user is assigned. I have also found in some instances, even when boxes appear to be checked, for some reason the security windows don't work as anticipated. So if you find these appear to be appropriately configured, uncheck and recheck them.
