To resolve this issue, you can use one of the following options:

Before you run Setup, use the Default Programs Control Panel to associate the .hta file type with the HTML Application Host program.

If you are prompted to choose a program with which to open setup.exe, choose HTML Application Host.

Right-click the file setup.exe and choose Run as administrator.

Right-click the file setup.exe and choose Properties. Click the Compatibility tab. Under Compatibility mode, select Windows 7.

hi, I tried to run in compatibility mode of windows 7, it did not work and other option s suggest but not worked in my case. I was able to find a solution, I was installing in win 10 pro. I was able to install only in those desktops where the OS build 15063.447 and version number 1703 (all desktops are win 10 pro). but is there any other way as i need to upgrade all the PC which is time consuming.

    Hello,

I was able to resolve the error. We had installed Eset antivirus and after uninstalling the antivirus (and not antivirus agent) I was able to install AX, the antivirus was the reason, even after pausing the antivirus we were unable to install. Only once we uninstalled the antivirus we were able to install AX.

Thanks for the suggestions as we were able to try all options in our search for the solution.

Having Antivirus on the AX AOS instances is generally not a good idea. Even if you do, you have to whitelist the installation media and installation target folders within the antivirus before running the setup.
