    Hi,

How to Connect Power BI Dashboard to Dynamics 365 CRM (For All Users)
Step 1: Enable Power BI in Dynamics 365 CRM
Before you can show any Power BI visuals in CRM, you need to enable it:
    1. Open Dynamics 365 CRM.
    2. Go to Advanced Settings (from top-right gear icon).
    3. Select Administration → System Settings.
    4. Click on the Reporting tab.
    5. Find the option "Enable Power BI Visualizations".
    6. Set it to Yes.
    7. Click OK to save the setting.
Note: This allows CRM to display Power BI dashboards.
Step 2: Create and Connect Power BI Report
    1. Open Power BI Desktop.
    2. Click Get Data → More → Online Services → Dataverse.
    3. Sign in with your Dynamics 365 credentials.
    4. Select the correct environment and choose the tables/entities you need.
    5. In Connection Settings, select one of the two options:
                  - Import - for static (cached) data.
                  - DirectQuery - for live data connection.
    6. Click OK.
Step 3: Create and Publish Power BI Report
    1. Build your visuals in Power BI Desktop (charts, tables, etc.).
    2. Click File → Save to save your report.
    3. Click the Publish button on the top-right.
    4. Choose or create a Workspace (don’t use "My Workspace" if others need to see it).
Note: This report will now be available online in the Power BI Service.
Step 4: Create a Dashboard in Power BI Service
To show your report in CRM and let others see it, you need to pin it to a dashboard:
    1. Go to https://app.powerbi.com (Power BI Service).
    2. Open the Workspace where you published the report.
    3. Open the report file.
    4. Hover over a visual and click the Pin icon.
    5. You’ll see two options:
                  - Existing Dashboard
                  - New Dashboard
    6. Click New Dashboard, enter a name, or Select Existing Dashboard then click Pin Live.
    7. Now your visual is pinned to a dashboard in the workspace.
Note:  This step is needed to embed Power BI in CRM.
Step 5: Embed Dashboard into CRM using Power Apps
    1. Open https://make.powerapps.com.
    2. Open or create a Solution (recommended to organize components).
    3. Click + New → Dashboard → Power BI Embedded.
    Fill the form:
            - Display Name - This will be the CRM dashboard name.
            - Select Workspace - Choose the Power BI workspace where dashboard is pinned.
            - Select Dashboard - Choose the name you entered earlier.
    1. Click Save and Close.
Step 6: Add the Dashboard to Your CRM App
To make the dashboard visible to users inside the CRM app:
    1. Go to Apps in Power Apps → Open your CRM app in App Designer.
    2. Click Add Page → Dashboard.
    3. Select the dashboard you just created.
    4. In the properties panel, Change Type from "System Dashboard" to Power BI Dashboard.
    5. Click Save, then click Publish.
Note- Make sure users have the proper Power BI license (Pro or PPU) and access to the workspace/report.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

    Hi,

To display a Power BI dashboard inside Dynamics 365 CRM (Customer Engagement), you can use the Power BI integration feature. Here’s how to set it up:

    1. Enable Power BI Integration

    • In Dynamics 365, go to Settings ▸ Administration ▸ System Settings.

    • Under the Reporting tab, set Allow Power BI visualization embedding to Yes.

    • Save the changes.

    •

    2. Connect Power BI to Dynamics 365 Data

    • In Power BI Desktop:

      • Click Get Data ▸ Online Services ▸ Dynamics 365 (Dataverse).

      • Sign in with your Dynamics 365 credentials.

      • Select the tables or views you need (e.g., Accounts, Opportunities).

      • Build your report and publish it to the Power BI Service.

    •

    3. Publish and Share the Dashboard

    • In Power BI Service, create a Dashboard and pin your report visuals.

    • Ensure the dashboard is shared with the same users who will access it in CRM.

    •

    4. Embed the Dashboard in Dynamics 365

    • In Dynamics 365, navigate to Dashboards ▸ New ▸ Power BI Dashboard.

    • Select the workspace and dashboard you published in Power BI.

    • Save and share the dashboard with the appropriate security roles.

    •

    Important Notes

    • Users must have a Power BI Pro license (or the dashboard must be in a Premium workspace).

    • The Power BI and Dynamics 365 environments should be in the same tenant.

    • Ensure users have access to the underlying data in both systems.

    •

Could you check if these steps help you set up the integration successfully?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Daniele
