Can CRM users names be pulled from an AD group?

Presently user configuration is performed by referencing the users unique id  in AD however we seem to be getting a lot of Business Process Rules due to duplicate entries in AD.  This is being caused by the fact that we are referencing an instance of AD outside the environment where our CRM and our own instance of AD is hosted.  This is like a master AD instance and we have a secondary.

Correction: WE have another AD Forest outside the environment where our CRM and our own instance of AD is hosted.  The local Forest has a one way trust with foreign Forest that contains the users.
