Management Reporter 2012 not recognizing new budget in column definitions

Hello,

I am using GP 2010 (Legacy not AA) and MR 2012 Version 2.1.7044.43 (CU7). We have imported a new budget into GP which I can see in the Budget Selection box from Cards > Financial > Budgets. There is an old budget there as well in the Budget Selection box.

I am trying to create a Budget vs. Actual report in MR using the new budget for that company but only the old budget is appearing as an option in the column definitions drop down box in Book Code / Attribute Category. Is there some trick to get the new budget to appear as an option in the drop-down box? I have tried manually writing in the name of the Budget ID but it did not produce any results when I generated the report. There is some missing link in the connection from GP to MR here.

Thank you in advance,

SOS

I realize this is an old post. However I encountered an issue where the new budget id in GP doesn't appear in the dropdown list of the book code/attribute category in MR, on a column definition.

Before you try all of the excellent recommendations, be sure that the default MR company is the same GP company you are trying to pull the budget id. This is only to pull the new budget id and update the column definition.

This scenario was a DM environment.

You should reach out to Tech Support on this one, as the established solution to this problem did not seem to work for you.  Otherwise, I would suggest using the Configuration tool to recreate Management Reporter's link to GP.  If you are using CU7 or Version 2.1.7044.43, I would suggest moving to a newer version of Management Reporter.

We're having the same issue - I can see the budget names in the drop down box in Management Reporter but no numbers are coming over to the reports.  I did the checklinks, refresh cache and still no budget numbers.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?

We have the exact same version and basically we import then go to Tools>>Maintenance>>Checklinks and run the checklinks against the budget master.  Then when you are in Management Reporter run the Refresh Cache off of the Tool bar in Management Reporter and then you can see your budgets.  Hope this helps.

    SOS,

I'll be doing something similar in Management Reporter with budgets and it's nice to know what to watch out for. Thank you for the additional detail.

    Update 4/24:

We used Integration Manager to enter the budget in GP instead of importing from excel in the Budget Selection box and it worked. The budget for 2014 now appears in the drop down box in the column definitions and is appearing in our report when we use the correct default company (at bottom of MR) and correct company name (in report tab). It did take a bit of playing around with the company names in MR as we have several and were using a specific Reporting Tree to pull data for each.
