Tasks tab is blank for external user

Hello,

We recently setup the Project Operations trial in a Sandbox environment. I'm trying to bring in an external user into this environment. I made this user a Member in Azure AD and granted him a Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Plan license and a Project Plan 5 license. I also granted him all the Project roles. I even explicitly shared the project with him and granted him all the security options. He can get into the Sandbox environment, but when opening a project and going to the Tasks tab, it fails to load. Previously it said something about not having a project license, but now it is just not loading at all with a message "The tasks grid is taking a long time to load. If it does not load, please follow the steps in the documentation to address the issue. aka.ms/po-tasks-grid-setup-documentation". When he goes to project.microsoft.com/<domain> he gets an error "Access to project.microsoft.com was denied". Am I missing a step somewhere or is it not possible to share with an external user. Thanks!

I found this article which had two tenant settings that needed to be turned on: support.microsoft.com/.../let-guests-see-your-project-in-project-for-the-web-81e1c210-74b2-4711-98ab-dea58f1b566b

Here are the two key parts:

"If Restricted Guest Access is turned on in the organization, guests will not be able to sign in."

"Make sure your admin goes to Microsoft 365 Groups settings and turns on guest access to group content. This will ensure that guests can access projects shared with them in the group, and that they can be added to your Microsoft 365 Groups through Project. You'll be able to search for them in the Group Members dialog, and when you assign a task."

After this they must go to project.microsoft.com/organizationdomainname.com first before going to Tasks tab so that they are already logged in. Also they have to turn off pop-up blockers and refresh.
