AX 2012 R3 is hanging while pressing Update into Settle open transactions screen for one customer only

Hi,

We have MS Dynamics AX 2012 R3 CU8, The AX client is hanging while trying to settle a customer invoice with a payment.

The settle open transactions screen is loading normally, we are selecting the invoice and payment normally too without any issue but once we press "Update" the AX client is hanging and I have to force closing the AX. (This issue occurs with one customer only)

Any Suggestion!!

Hi,

Do you have any customizations implemented that might affect the settlement process?

How many open transactions does the customer have?

Has another user tried doing the settlement? If so, did this user experience the same?

Hi Ludwig,

We don't have any customization that is related to the settlement process.

The "CustTransOpen" table contains 18 lines for this customer.

If any user tried to settle the invoices for this customer the AX is hanging too.

First I would try to check if there are no suspicious activity (locks or long running query). If nothing found I would suggest to try to debug the process.

Hi,

I tried to check the locks by running the following SQL statement.

USE Master

GO

EXEC SP_WHO

GO

The "BLK" column was 0 for all processes which means that there was no blocking but I noticed there are a lot of processes with state "Sleeping" and cmd "AWAITING COMMAND".

What does it mean??

Hi,

While trying to debug the process there was a class “CustVendTransData” that was mainly called while pressing update button on the form “CustOpenTrans”.

The major issue we found that the method "updateOffsetVoucher" was called and then another one was called "offsetVoucher.updatenow()" during the runtime that let the other functions of the same class be stopped and hanged promptly.

If anyone faced such a case, kindly provide us with his/her experience in this post if possible.

Hi Crispin,

We are trying to settle a payment (Single line) with a project invoice that consists of 600 lines.

I tried to leave the session hanging while settlement for 4 hours with no result.
