Posting Historical Trial Balances

Hi,

I have 4 trial balances going back 4 years - 2020 to 2024.

I want to post the trial balances in the system.

My challenge - the TB in 2021 includes retained earnings for 2020 and so on. So when i post the 2021 TB, i cant close it because it will double up the retained earning account in 2021.

How can i go about this?

Posting Historical Trial Balances

You only post the trial balance from 2020. After that, you post the net changes from 2020 to 2021, from 2021 to 2024 and so on. The frequency of the net changes is up to you, monthly, yearly, etc.
