Bank Reconciliation

The client reconciled their checkbook  for 11/01/2016-12/31/2016 and reconciled for the ending date as of 11/1/2016.  Is there a way to change the date to 12/31/2016 without any adverse effects?

Thank you,

Lisa

    RE: Bank Reconciliation

    Hi Lisa,

You can't change the system's numbers, but you can take the bank rec report and back it up to show the outstanding transactions as of 12/31/2016. That would be easy. If it's an auditor who's wanting this, they should be smart enough to do that themselves. It's this time of year that I am amazed on how little the fresh accountants that do our audits actually understand about accounting. I still get requests for wasted checks and missing invoice numbers. Really guys? And they call themselves millennials.

Sorry about the rant, I'm always frustrated during audit season.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
