Hi,

Can I use the "Item list" feature in project item requirement Or it is only available in Sales order?

Not sure what you mean by 'Item list' here. However, the use of single items has been allowed in the Item Requirement journals of Projects for years. There is also a new feature called 'Product bundles in journals', which I haven't tested in journals yet. It works based on BOM and allows you to explode the BOM

Hi Mostafa,

I believe you are referring to the item list option given in Sales and marketing module which is useful in creating lines in Sales order (Sales order line > From Item List) option.

In project module, specifically for Item requirements the same option is not available but while considering the benefits from Item list option in sales order, similar benefit can be achieved through "Transfer WBS item estimates", in case items are not available in WBS, then it can be easily defined over the Project > Plan > WBS through WBS templates or from other projects [i can further detailed out the same if required].

So you can achieve similar functionality through WBS templates. Hope this clarifies the requirement and similarities of two different functionalities.

Hi Mostafa,

I was working further on this requirement, so i found one interesting way to achieve this requirement.. In the item requirements page, you start by adding 1 item atleast and then click on Manage >Inquiries > Sales order.

It will take you to Sales order form with Sales order type = Item requirements and linked to Project Id, then you can still use the Item list option from sales order.

I think this is what you were looking for.
