PowerShell - discover Organizational unit path

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am creating some validation scripts to confirm the CRM installation is using the correct OU, I feel certain this information will be available to me via PowerShell, I am just new to CRM PowerShell cmdlets and so thought it worth a question.

Cheers.

    Cheers for the info, i need to query the currently installed CRM server and discover which OU was used, I was hoping the out of the box CRM Powershell cmdlets may hold the answer, the packages you refer to seem to be more based in CI/Automated deployment territory.  I will certainly investigate them though.

    Hi Brian, yes especially for on premise CRM 2013 there is an opensource powershell library available via

    xrmciframework.codeplex.com

    github.com/.../xrm-ci-framework

    and the CI framework the contributor has discussed this in his blog  https://waelhamze.com

    and also check out ALM toolkit www.adxstudio.com/adxstudio-alm-toolkit

    There are several other powershell libraries you can use for crm online such as the one below;

    github.com/.../Microsoft.Xrm.Data.PowerShell

    github.com/.../Microsoft.Xrm.Data.PowerShell.Samples

    Best Wishes, Raz
