VBA Date field Calendar selection not placed in field

I'm new to adding a date field on an existing GP 2016 form using the Modify Window option.

When I modify a form, the form is shown and I can add a date field to the form

When I save the modified form and bring it up in GP and click the calendar button to the right of the date and select a date, the date will not show in the actual field. It is left unchanged.

I can manually type in a date, but using the calendar does nothing.

Any help would be great!
