CRM 2015 Outlook plugin fails to install - Thinks I have IE version 0

I am fighting today to try to install the CRM 2015 Outlook plugin but it keeps failing while telling me that I have a pre-IE version 8 and that my version is 0.  I don't know where it is getting this information from.  My IE is actually at 11 right now and my registry settings look right for that version.

    Might be worth doing a repair on the Office install to see if it will pick up the version properly after that.

    After the weekend, I noticed I wasn't receiving emails in outlook anymore, so the repair was necessary anyhow.  I still could not get email, so I uninstalled outlook and reinstalled.  Now I can get emails but I just tried the CRM installer again and received the same message so no dice, it appears.

    Do you have any other security application installed on the machine. I face the same issue with websense installed. without websense, it works fine. !!
