Entity Form in Portals

Posted on by 6,203

Hi All,

I have create a form in Opportunity in CRM that i have added in Entity list on Create Button (grid setting), which opens when i click create button on opportunity view in portal, but when i submit that form it is throwing error "An unknown failure has occurred. Error ID # [0dc9d84b-ce19-4764-bdd0-157e4ca8198d]".

Note : On CRM side i have created Form in opportunity entity, in that form there are few fields which are required and locked, this fields i was not able to remove form form, so i took all field and added in section and i hide that section.

Thanks,

Shahbaaz

    Hi Shahbaaz,

I'd recommend enabling the "Yellow Screen of Death" on your portal by disabling custom errors, as per the instructions here:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../view-portal-error-log

Then, generate the error and post back here with the full error details and stack trace.  That should give us more information to work on.

    Hi Hemant,

I have created separate form for portal, when you click on new from in crm, there are few default fields on the form, that default fields i want to remove(which are locked on form).

    Thanks,

    Shahbaaz

    Hi Shahbaaz,

You can create a separate Form for portal and keep the fields that you really need in portal.

    Thanks

    Hi both,

I don't wont that fields on portal entity form or on crm web form, i want to remove it completely but i am not able to remove.

I also don't want it to be hidden and set dummy values to that field.

    Thanks,

    Shahbaaz

    Hi Shahbaaz,

If the field is mandatory in CRM, then putting it in the hidden section won't let you save the data in CRM.

First, make the section/tab visible in CRM and make it hidden on Portal only. And, If you are not sure about the data to be filled in those fields, put some dummy value in that using Entity Form Metadata.

    Hope it helps

    Hi Shahbaaz Ansari,

It seems the issue is because of required fields are not populated. Can you try adding the required field on the Portal form and fill it before submitting.

    Thanks

    Justin Jose
