Disable automatic calculation of Detail amount (totallineitemamount) of Opportunities in Dynamics CRM

I want to disable the automatic calculation of Detail amount in Opportunities in Dynamics CRM

I tried disabling all processes associated with Opportunity but it didn't work

    Hi Vicky,

    If you simply don't need to see the field then you can always uncheck the visibility checkbox from the field properties, amounts will still be calculated but not visible to anyone. If you want the field to not calculate a total amount then you will need to got 'Edit' button next to Field Type on the actual field details and discard all option.

    Hello @Inaam Khan, I need the field to be displayed. I am calculating it from a different value and it gets reset everytime I save it. I am not able to figure out what is changing it. Where do we get the Edit button? I opened Settings->Customize System->Entities->Opportunity->Fields and opened up that field, but I don't see any edit button there. Am I looking in a wrong place?

    Hi Vicky,

    you can disable the pricecalculation globally only, not for a specific entity.

    If you really want this, you have to go to Systemsettings -> Sales -> "Use system price calculation" (or similar)

    (!) But this means you have to build custom plugins for all price calculations that are still needed.

    Thanks for your suggestion

    Looks like that stops the line item calculation

    This also stops calculations like discount, quote price calculation etc

    Is there a way to stop calculation of lineitemtotal alone?

    Yes, like I stated before it stops all price calculations. Sadly there is no way to stop the price calculation for a specific entity afaik. If you want to build your own calculation have a look at this article docs.microsoft.com/.../use-custom-pricing-products
