Modify Microsoft Entra Application User to Resolve Error in Business Central

I have exposed a web service in Business Central to submit records/documents for approval. However, I am encountering the following error:

{
    "error": {
        "code": "Application_DialogException",
        "message": "User ID BC API does not exist in the Approval User Setup window. CorrelationId: d3e3911d-53c0-4a94-be59-8df03f6532dc."
    }
}

The BC API user was automatically created on the Microsoft Entra Application Card when I connected an Azure App to enable OAuth 2.0 API access. I followed this guide: https://yzhums.com/20690/.

The BC API user exists in the User table (ID: 2000000120) but does not appear on the User List page (ID: 9800). Consequently, I cannot select it in the Approval User Setup page (ID: 663).

User Table:

Is there a way to modify the user information in the Microsoft Entra Application Card to associate it with an existing user? Alternatively, are there workarounds to resolve this error?

    Hello,

    open Users page and then click Ctrl+Alt+F1 and click on the page filters tab on the page inspection.
    Check which filters are enabled and see can you realize why you do not have them on the users page list.
    Compare data with users data that you have.

    <>External User&<>Application&<>AAD Group

    I'm a little confused about the process you've imagined.

    Will the api send documents for approval, does it also create them, at what point will it send them (what will be the trigger), what will happen after document is approved. It seems like a lot of work. If you need that api just for sending approvals then you may use some job queue with custom code to send approvals for that.

    Greetings

    Hi, Similar to the question below, although it cannot be selected, you can enter the name manually.
    Dynamics 365 Business Central API error handling: Application_DialogException (You must first set up user xxxx as a warehouse employee.)

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
