Ribbon Workbench 2016 - Adding a button to a dashboard

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I am trying to use Ribbon Workbench 2016 to add a button to a dashboard. There are plenty of forum posts and blog entries about how to do this in earlier workbench version, but the 2016 version doesn't seem to give me the ability to select a dashboard.

I have created a new solution and added the Application Ribbon component. However there is no "Dashboard" tab visible in Ribbon Workbench, as there is in earlier versions. Am I missing something?

Thanks,

Roy

Yeah, I eventually figured out that you need to scroll the ribbon way to the right. Duh!

    Thanks for your help.

    Roy,

Here is what you are looking for (Tabs are still there, just displayed differently):

Sorry, I tried to add some screenshots to my previous reply, but it didn't work. Hopefully you can understand my issue anyway.

This article shows how to add auto-refresh to dashboards using the Ribbon Workbench tool. I want to add a button, which should be a similar operation.

In the version of the ribbon workbench which he is using you can see lots of tabs in the middle, including a dashboard tab. I can't see any of this in Ribbon Workbench 2016.

    Older version of Ribbon Workbench:
