I have a NSF check at 8/31/15. The month (August) is now closed, how can I process the NSF in Sept so that the Bank rec module is updated in Aug - so that I can check off the NSF from the Bank statement?

Is "financial" still open for August?  If not, open for this transaction. My suggestion is to create a bank transaction (decrease) dated 8/31/15 . During reconcilation, mark this transaction as your NSF. In September, process your NSF then create a bank transaction (increase) to offset. When you reconcile September you will mark NSF (decrease) and bank transaction (increase) which will clear these transactions but not affect bank balance.

    Hi Imzano,

When you NSF something in the Posted Transactions window you are presented with two dates. One is the Void Date, the other is the Posting Date. The Posting Date is the date it will hit the general ledger, the Void Date is the date it will hit the checkbook register and the sales module. So if you want the GL transaction date to be Sept, but the Check Register date to be August, make the Void date August and the Posting date September.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
