Can anyone tell me whether it's possible to access a cloud hosted Dynamics 365 Business Central via SSMS?

Hi Michael,
If you are referring to Business Central Online (i.e. the SaaS version of the product) then the answer is no, i.e. the SQL database is not directly accessible to customers or partners via SSMS. However, it is possible to arrange to get a copy of the relevant SQL Server database in the form of a *.bacpac file. If you need that then it will be necessary to open a ticket with Microsoft via your Solution Provider or Business Central Partner.
It is also possible to host an on-premise version of D365 Business Central on a VM in the cloud with the BC database hosted on an Azure SQL DB instance. If this is the environment you are referring to then the answer is yes, i.e. it is possible to connect directly to such an Azure SQL DB with SSMS.
