Advanced Find - Unable to select columns from a related entity

Hi,

I have two custom entities that have a many to many relationship, I am able to perform an advanced find and select the entities under the related section. However from within Advanced Find when I click on Edit columns and then click Add columns when I click on the 'Record Type' selection list I do not see the related entity so I am unable to select the columns I want in the advanced find view.

Does anyone know what could be causing the related entity not to appear under the Record Type lookup view?
