How to check Inventory Value report by Product category hierarchy wise.

Hi Experts,

In D365 F&O is there any way to check Inventory Value report against product category including its sub categories?

Hi Poonam,

I am not aware of such a standard report.

Even the default embedded power bi dashboards don't seem to have this breakdown available; seems that you will have to build it yourself unless another community member knows a special report / inquiry form / dashboard for that one.

Hi Poonam,

I do not think so we can generated Inventory value report by category, we can generate by item group using Resource group(Item group) filter.

You can setup report configuration for Resource group visibility in column as well total.

Thank you, so now we are customising this to show that product category but the problem is we can show only one category in report, but if there are sub category in category then its not possible.

So, is there any way to generate any report which shows product category hierarchy?

Hi Poonam,

first thing to note on which category you are doing this customization?

1. Procurement or retail or sales because inventory will have all three categories and single product can have different category for each of these

2. If you are having only one, then next thing you have to decide the level of sub categories which should be unique other wise if you are having different level

may be you can do based on last level of category after fixing levels in category hierarchy and display parent hierarchy as columns .

What is it that you try to show exactly in the report?

Basically, now for customisation developer is able to add the product category column and not its sub category(to show all item at once). But hierarchy thing we are unable customized.

For ex:

So, I was looking for where we can generate report by category which we can use in customization.
