how to use integration manager to inactivate GL accounts

Posted on by 230

I am wanting to write an integration to inactivate a large number of accounts.  Has anyone done this and if so can you provide any insite?  I am thinking that I just need account number in the integration and to set the inactive field to true.  Am I on the right track?

Yes, you would either clone the Unit Accounts sample Integration, or start with a blank integration and make sure you choose Unit Accounts as your destination

Can you use Integration Manager to Update Unit Account names, active, description change, etc?  I get errors when there are unit account in my GL account list.

    Hello Sarah,

I do apologize for your waiting for an answer to this question.

You are correct. All you need to do is add the Accounts to your Source File, set the Inactive Field to True to mark the window. Also, Make sure you have the Integration set to Insert and Update or just Update. If you have it set to Insert only, it will fail indicating the account already exists.

    THank You!

    Hi Sarah,

You also need the Account Category on the import file as this is a mandatory field in the Account destination.

    Hello Sarah,

Integration Manager works perfectly, I just wanted to mention that Excel Paste tool from Dynamics Innovations can do this job easily as well!

Yep,  you're on the right track.  Make certain you Chart of Accounts integration is set to update and you're all set.
