We have a situation here where an employee who entered time via business portal and did not have access to GP client, has changed office roles and now needs access to GP client.
The standard convention is to use the Network ID (controlled by H/O) as the Business Portal login (have to) but that is then linked to the Employee ID in Canadian Payroll (not necessary to be the same as Network ID)
Situation here is that since the user was created to be a Business Portal User it appears that they are entered into SQL User list. So, when I try to add that Network ID as the GP User ID and save from the Application (as sa of course) I get the message that the SQL Name already exists.
I know we can use anything for the GP ID, however, that is going to be messy for someone that does not understand the flexibility of the GP to allow this. The DB that I am working with is pretty fussy and I would l really like to make the Network User ID and the GP User ID and therefore the SQL User ID the same.
Is there a simple way to fix this so that I do not loose any data - this employee has BP / PDK and time entries in the system. I can not loose data bottom line.
Thanks
