How to lock the salesperson ID field in sales customer detail entry

Hello does anyone know if there is a way to lock the field salesperson id

we have had some issues where some sales people go to an order and replace the sales id to get the commission

does anyone know of a way to stop this

right now we are using a field located in sales transaction entry, right besides customer id blue arrow opens sales customer detail entry.

This will need customization.

GP Power Tools can lock the field with a few minutes work. Or you could audit when the field changes and send emails or write logs, or you could require a password to change or any combination of those ideas.

Power Tools is awesome.

I'm also thinking that field level security (Microsoft Dynamics GP - Tools - Setup - System - Field Level Security) would work, putting a password on that field before entry.

I sold Omni Field Security to Microsoft for Dynamics GP 7.0 so GP 2010 will not be an issue.

Check if you have the Advanced Security dictionary installed. It should be installed as part of the core Dynamics GP install, but might have been manually removed.
