Limit customer master updates to only Addresses & Contacts

My client has a requirement that certain users can edit only the Address and Contacts in a customer record, where other users should have full control over all customer master fields.  Is there a way, short of customization, to accomplish the first requirement?  XDS? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Frank,
     
    This is possible. The customer details form has different form parts for the address and contact details with their own menu items. You can create security objects where you grant read only access to the customer details and maintain rights for the address and contact details. You can try starting with duplicating the duty Maintain customer master, then remove the two privileges starting with Maintain customer records. You can add the privileges starting with View customer records. As the duty has different permissions for the address and contact details, this should do the trick. If this doesn't work directly, check all other privileges for their access levels.
