Hello,
While creating a released product, I need that Item group be mandatory (error message if empty field), I found it in some environments but I don't know if it is a customization or a setup to activate.
Any ideas ?
Thank you & Best regards,
Maher
Hi Maher,
You can use the new feature to mark fields as mandatory, but like Vinit mentioned it is not working on the product creation dialog. The item group is in a table separated from the released product details. On the dialog an unbound control is used.
The required feature is working on the form datasource only. You can read more on my blog: dynamicspedia.com/.../
As there is a feature to release items to multiple legal entities, the released products are initially created without an item group. Still, I would not consider a customization here. As mentioned by Dolores, you can't use the item in transactions if the item group is not filled. So, this would be a trigger to fill the item group.
Hello Maher,
The Item group is not mandatory when you create a released product. However, it must be populated before transactions can occur.
Regards
Dolores
Hi,
You need to enable the feature from feature management.
It's the latest version of D365 (10.0.12)
By default, the field Item group is not mandatory to populate on a released product.
If you don't have access to set the field as required, it's just a matter of your D365 not on a new (-est) version.
Thanks for you reply,
but I don't have that selection :/
Hi,
I think you will have to make it with customization. There is a personalization to make a field mandatory but it is not working on the dialog box
