Duplicate Party records in F&O after installing Global Address Book

Hi,

We have recently installed Global Address Book solution and since then we started to see duplicated party records whenever we create a Customer record from Dynamics 365 CE Sales.

There's a party record created in CE with ID like PAR-xxxx and another one created in FSCM with ID like 00000235
But we can only see the party record with ID PAR-xxx in CE and not the other one, so all of the addresses that we create in CE are associated with that party.

However, to make things more complicated, the customer record in Finance is associated with the other party ID (0000....) rather than the one we see in CE. In order to make all of the addresses show up under the customer in Finance, we have to manually change the associated party on the customer record in Finance.

Does anybody have the same issue before and how did you resolve it please? Is there a way to stop the party record from creating in Finance and link with the one created in CE instead?

Thank you very much.

I have figured this out. This issue happens because Party Number is blank on the Account record in CE, after I populate that Party Number field with the same number as the party record created in CE, all is good.

    Hi,
You can refer to this official document: Party and global address book - Finance & Operations | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft LearnA party can be an organization or a person. It's convenient to globally store and manage properties of a party, such as the name, language, contacts, and addresses. Then, when a property value is changed in one place, the change is reflected in all places where the party is involved.
    Best regards,
    Kevin
