Accellos is very good. Panatrack is also, and a little less pricey.

Take a look at our DataCollection product. It is going to be a lot cheaper then Accellos and Panatrack. Depending on your needs, it is a great option for moving into using barcodes for inventory control with GP.

A simple solution is to use smartfill and store the UPC code on the item card. This will allow you to use normal GP functionality.
SmartFill???? How would this provide a barcode solution?
Just as an FYI, there is a field available in the Item Master that is not on the window named Item Code. I often use that field to store the UPC code.
Kind regards,
Leslie
Thanks for the kind recommendations for the barcode solution from Panatrack. Our PanatrackerGP product offers an easy-to-use and powerful way to record your key inventory transactions through simple barcode scanning. Learn more at http://www.panatrack.com.
Leslie, where in the item master can i find that field? i have been using generic description, but would prefer to move it.
thanks,
jeff
Hey Jeff - There is also another spot you can store alternate item numbers in GP. PanatrackerGP uses this native GP cross reference table to add the ability to scan an item bar code that is not your GP item number. You can find it in the GP interface under Inventory>>Cards>>Item Purchasing Options. When you enter the item number, there will be gear icon to the right of the lookup icon that will become active. Click on the gear icon to open the Manufacturer's Item Number Maintenance window. You can store multiple cross references here. Hi Jeff,
The field is in the IV00101 table, the name of it is ITEMCODE. It isn't displayed on the window, you'll need to use Modifier to make it visible.
Hope this helps!
You are correct Panatrack is a full parcode solution. It all depends on what the client is trying to do. I have seen customers use smartill with a USB scanner attached to GP and then scan the UPC code. This brings up the item on the sales transaction entry window in GP. You would need smartfill or some other customized solution to lookup the item based on UPC code.
