Management Reporter Check Links?

Is there any kind of Check Links process available for Management Reporter?

I ask because while developing some queries to help locate account numbers used in Dimension Filters, I noticed there are a few records in the controlrow----- and controlcolumn---- tables that are from old, no longer used definitions.

It seems like row and/or column definitions were deleted at some point, but some of the underlying detail definitions didn't get removed.

MR does have a refresh under Tools -> Refresh Cached Financial Data but I don't believe it changes the data you are referring to. It doesn't hurt to give it a try though.

If the issue persists, I would be curious to know if you can see any of the data you referred to from the front end of MR.

Yeah, the 'Refresh Cached Financial Data' didn't help.

Regarding your second thought, I have records in the ControlRowMaster table referring to row layouts which do not appear in the MR 'Row Definitions' pane in Report Designer. I wonder if they were created in MR from some invalid FRx data when I ran the conversion?

I wasn't able to find any information on records in MR that get left behind so I think the theory that they might have come from an FRx upgrade is valid. I would also recommend the following as a test.

    1. Make a backup of the MR SQL database.

    2. In MR, go to Company -> Building Block Groups.

    3. Select a building block group and click Export.

    4. Click the Select All button under each tab and Export.

    5. Repeat Steps 3 and 4 for all building block groups.

    6. Next, make new building block groups and import the reports.

    7. Assign the companies to use the new building block groups under Company -> Companies -> Modify.

    8. Delete the old building block groups.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I wasn't restricting my results by specification set - so they were including records for ALL the specification sets (doh!). The 'bad' records were coming from an old specification set that we haven't used in a long time. Once I deleted the old set the 'bad' records went away.

Needless to say, I've fixed all my queries to restrict future results by specification set :-) Thanks for your help!

Glad to hear you were able to figure it out! I hadn't seen where anything gets left behind before so it makes sense the records were tied to an old spec set.
