On the Storage dimensions>Warehouse - the 'Blank receipt allowed' box is greyed out and cannot be marked. How can I make this active?

According to Help in AX 2009:
If the Primary stocking check box is not selected, then you can select the Blank receipt allowed check box to prevent specification of the dimension when physical receipts are updated. This functionality is useful if, for example, you do not want to specify the serial/lot number upon input but you do for picking and output.
Check if this is similar in AX 2012.
The issue is I cannot mark the Blank receipt allowed box. It is not active. How can I get it to become active?

It works in AX 2009. Should be similar in AX 20012.
Primary stocking is not marked and the field cannot be selected.
It cannot be ticked on the Warehouse (or Site) line. This is restricted by code, not config or setup.
Thanks, that clears up that question. Which raises another question, when receiving an expense item, not stocked, a warehouse must be entered to post the receipt correct?

For all non-stocked items you will have to do a product receipt to be able to invoice it later.

Understand that, but on the PO receipt is a warehouse always required?
You could default the warehouse in the site specific settings.
In Ax 2012 'Blank receipt allowed' will not be marked Active because Warehouse should be specified at the time of goods receipt.
Site and warehouse should be specified at the time of Goods receipt.
At the same time you can Mark "Blank receipt allowed" other than site and warehouse.
