Dexterity Runtime - You do not have permissions for this file

I have a GP user that's getting the error message when attempting to log onto GP.  All was fine before, now all of a sudden this happens and no changes that I'm aware of have been made on the GP server.

The error reads:

Title of pop-up box:  Dexterity Runtime

Error Message:  You do not have permission to open this file.

I uninstalled and reinstalled GP on the workstation, I'm the Domain Admin and I'm able to log onto GP from my profile on her workstation using her GP account successfully.  I can even log onto the GP server as this user without any problems.  I tried giving this user local admin rights on her workstation but it doesn't work...still get the same error.

The path in the Dictionary.set file that points to the Reports.dic is correct.

The problem only happens when the user logs on as herself to the workstation then attempts to launch GP.

At this point, I'm suspecting the problem to be on her workstation profile...possible corruption?

What is your operating system? If window 7 or vista then right click the application icon and select

    "Run in Administrator".

    Thanks

Just to confirm - if you launch GP when logged into Windows as the domain admin on the computer, everything is fine?  If you launch GP when logged into Windows as this user, you get the error?  The error pops up prior to the window asking for the GP user ID and password?

If so, it sounds like a Windows permissions issue, most likely to the shared files specified in the dynamics.set file.  As a quick test - copy the dynamics.set file to another location, then change the original one on the user's computer to point locally for everything.  Launch GP when logged into Windows as the user getting the error - what happens?

Victoria, you're correct...after further investigation I too suspected a windows permission issue, so I added "Write" permissions to the shared folder that is referenced in the Dynamics.set file which only had "Read" permissions and it worked fine.

Somehow, the permissions were reset on that folder, so "Read" was the only thing available which caused this problem for several of our users.  It's resolved now...thanks!

Here is one more possible solution.  Today I ran into the same problem for just one of our users.  As it turns out, the user who was experiencing this issue had their Active Directory account password expire (not their SQL Account) which was blocking access to the network share.  After resetting the password, everything started working as expected.
