Password protect one batch

Is there a way to require an approval on just specific batches, but not all? I know I was able to do that in an earlier version of GP, but I can't figure out how to do it now. I want one payables batch to require a password, but not all.

You can go into the posting setup and select the purchasing module and check the require batch approval. However this will affect all the batches in the module.

If you were able to do this in the past, it must have been a customization or a 3rd party tool that provided that capability.

Purchase orders have approval limits, allowing some POs to be approved by anyone but larger purchases to require approvals. This might be what you are remembering.

Also, batch approvals can be turned on by type of batch. Say RM Payments can require approvals but not RM transactions. This is done in posting setup
