You must login to Dynamics GP Utilities as the 'sa' login, which is the system administrator for SQL Server and has all permissions on the Dynamics GP side as well.

GP Utilities won't work with anything else and will give you this type of error message.

Try the 'sa' login credentials in GP Utilities and see if that doesn't resolve this issue for you.

    Thanks

Agree 100% with Derek, sa is the only login that will work - normally - I have encountered some DBA that will not willing give up the "sa" password, so you might have to work with that person to make this work.

Derek, is there anything DYNSA can't do that 'sa' can?  What if created a new SQL user and made that user a sysadmin in SQL? Is 'sa' hard coded into any of the upgrade routines?

For Utilities, it's like it is hard-coded, where it'll let you login, but then throw an error, even if you have the sys admin permissons on the SQL side.

This is different than how Dynamics GP application works/acts.

    From my experience anyway.
