Hi i just upgraded to CRM Sp1 2016 version KB3154952 8.1.0359

the issue is that when i try to add a write in product the new product page open in the main window

moving user away from quote window which is confusing.

second issue is the isproductoverridden field which is existing OR writeIn type selection is

locked and cannot change. previous version had this field enabled and can be changed not sure why

it is locked.  it is a big issue as our products need to be added on the product form and adding them in line 

on quote form is not desirable for our users.

Could someone please suggest!

    Hi Likki,

    Obviously you can just close the window X below uour login icon and will return you to Quote so just user education as a lot of entities are like this.

    What is the purpose of it being unlocked? If you are adding an existing product to the quote you wouldn't have selected write-in.

    the window issue is to keep the system behavior as is. if its how it is then i think user education is the only option.

    the reason to unlock the field is users cannot search existing product from quote using inline search box. our product ids are not searchable and

    all the fields are not available to edit either. in the past system we are able to click write in and it open a new window and we can flip it to existing

    product do everything easily. the upgrade seems too restrictive and i have to deal with user frustrations a lot.

    It's a frustrating area.

    I am about to write a plugin to copy product ID (not GUID) to a Quote line field to populate a new field that a write-in ID will go to allow the quote when exported have existing and write-ins appear the same. No OOB workflows that would be simple due to creating races / loops.
