Import Wizard problems

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We have just had to move our CRM installation on to a new server and all was working well until I tried to import some data into the new database.  Using the Import Wizard everything looks ok up till the point I submit the import file (I have tried txt and xml files).  The file submits ok, BUT that is as far as I get.

Can anyone provide a pointer to where to look to solve the issue.  As far as I can tell I carried out the installation by the book.  The only concern would be the migration of the data which was done by importing the existing SQL Server database on to the new server.  Are there any permissions/settings that I might have missed? - I know that sounds vague, but at the moment I need to try to get a handle on what might be causing me stress.

Cheers

John

If asynchronous services do not start automatically after rebooting server then I would suggest you to open a support case so in order to find cause and resolution for this.

Restarting the asynchronous service solved the problem.  Every time the server restarts, for whatever reason, those services don't automatically start - even though they are set to start automatically.  I just need to remember to manually start the services when needed.

I have found out what was happening when I was trying to import data.  For some reason the Asynchronous processes were not started on the server!  Starting those up solved my problem.

    Stress levels falling :-)
